13:36 < rsynnott_> I love how subjective audiophiles basically just live in their own reality
13:37 < padraiq> you mean, you don't get a shaman in to bless your audio equipment once you set it up?

00:13 < mw> the black forest donut in offbeat is delicious. /cc: blc
03:06 < stesh> is that the place with the delicious-looking donut sign outside Pearse Dart Station?
05:27 < tapirus> it is
05:27 < tapirus> don't like that place, reminds me of burger places like counter
05:29 < tapirus> in that the same way they're obsessed with topping and customisability, to the detriment of an actual decent juicy burger, off beat is a place with a million and one very lovely toppings, but the donut itself is very bland and boring, and identical to the tesco donuts we've been having the last twenty years
05:30 < tapirus> just as I'd rather go to Bunsen and have a simple, but juicy and delicious, hamburger or cheeseburger, I'd much rather go to that tiny donut kiosk on O'Connell Street, and get a plain sugar, but delicious, ring donut there
05:34 < tapirus> David Lynch's Dune is fantastic in its own way, it's terrible as a film, but more than any other adaptation, it captured the whole middle ages, crusades / Renaissance feel of the dune universe perfectly
05:35 < tapirus> If you ignore the terrible pacing, and the weird deviations from the novel (weirding modules etc.) it makes a great visual accompaniment to a renewed reading of the book

11:57 < spoon> is the redis hate a consequence of the clustering implentation? We stood up an single instance a year and a half ago and I don't think we've had to think about it since
11:57 < spoon> a*
11:58 < nosmo> I don't hate redis at all
11:58 < nosmo> it's the tits
11:58 < spoon> I can't comment on the plural, but it is certainly an excellent single tit for storing key value pairs
